Pokémon Go Generation 2, Legendary Birds Release Date; Update On Pokémon Trading and PvP Battling

Trainers may finally see the Legendary Birds in Pokémon Go's next update. Not only that, it is rumoured some Gen 2 Pokémon will be made available in the hit mobile game. Now, here's the latest news about Pokémon Go Generation 2 release date. We'll also give updates about Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres, Mewtwo and Mew.

Last month, Niantic rolled out the "Buddy System" update to the game. While trainers are still waiting for an updated tracking system, PvP battling, trading and other features, one question about the game remains: When is the release of Legendries and Gen 2 Pokémon?

The arrival of the Buddy System is a good way to extract specific type of candies. With that update, players are also starting to fill out their Pokédexes quickly. But still they are looking for other Pokémon that would help them conquer gyms.

At San Diego Comic-Con, Niantic officials said they will release Gen 2 Pokémon very soon. For those who can't recall, the second generation of Pokémon includes Chikorita, Cyndaquil, Totodile, Sentret and many more.

As for the release of Zapdos, Articuno, Moltres - the three legendary birds, Forbes reported Niantic may hold events for Pokémon GO where the legendries will show up. The spawn points may be placed specifically at famous landmarks around the world to attract many players. Interestingly, this rumoured Pokémon event was featured in the game's first trailer in which hundreds of trainers are trying to mass-capture a Mewtwo in New York Times Square.

Furthermore, the new Pokémon and Legendries will be made available in the upcoming trading system, a signature feature of the Pokémon video games dating back to the original Game Boy titles from 1996. In addition, trainers will be able to use the new digital monsters in the forthcoming PvP battling system. Insiders at Niantic said the feature is something that they often talk about internally.

In a recent Recode Decode podcast, Niantic CEO John Hanke said the development team is working double time to release new Pokemon Go updates as soon as possible.

"It's been a busy two months so we're now happy that we're kind of stabilized and able to start being a little more thoughtful about the next set of features that we want to build," Hanke said,

With that being said, let's wait for more announcements from Niantic and Nintendo about the Pokémon Go.
